How to Write a Cover Letter that Gets Noticed

Most people spend hours upon hours polishing their resume when they start looking for a new job. But the dirty little secret about job hunting is that the document that often gets the most attention, and can mean the difference between whether that resume actually gets read or not, is often ignored. Most people simply don’t know how to write a cover letter. They either spend a few minutes copying something they found on the Internet, or just dash off a quick note that says nothing to a prospective employer. With the next resume you send out, spend more time on the cover letter than the resume and watch the results.
