What is secondary infertility?
Secondary infertility is the inability of a couple to conceive again after they have naturally conceived a child. In USA, there are over three million couples with secondary infertility. The number of affected couple has increased sharply in recent years. Part of the problem with secondary infertility is in the perception that nothing is wrong and many couples fo not seek treatment for it. Most couples will just keep on trying unsuccessfully to have another child. This will lead to frustration and anguish. There are a few causal factors for secondary infertility. These causal factors are the same as for normal infertility. To address secondary infertility, check if you or your partner has had any type of infection, a poor diet or has excess weight gain. Consult your doctor for a check on egg quality, sperm quality and sperm count as well. The other reasons for female secondary infertility include ovulation problem, female fibroids, endometriosis, polyps and pelvic adhesions.
